The camera follows.
You run the show.

GimbalPilot turns a DJI RS gimbal and the camera you already own into an AI auto-tracking PTZ. It finds the speaker, follows them, and keeps the framing — while your volunteers watch the stream instead of a joystick.

FEATURES

A PTZ camera, minus the PTZ camera

Auto-tracking PTZ cameras cost $1,500–3,500 and still shoot worse video than the mirrorless you already own. GimbalPilot is the software half you were missing.

AI speaker tracking

Click a person once. On-device AI keeps them framed through walks, turns and lighting changes — and re-acquires them if they step out of view.

Automatic framing

Pairs with your Sony camera over Bluetooth for true variable-speed zoom. Set a shot size once; the framing holds as the speaker moves.

Grab control anytime

Touch a gamepad stick and you're flying the camera. Let go, and tracking takes back over two heartbeats later. No modes, no fumbling.

Simple by default

Volunteers get four controls on a Sunday morning. Operators unlock an Advanced mode with full regulator tuning, deadzones and auto-tune.

More than people

Track a ball, a pet, a horse, a car. Same one-click lock-on, powered by the same on-device detection models.

No cloud, no lag

Everything runs on your machine — video never leaves the room. Works on a mid-range laptop; uses your NVIDIA GPU when there is one.

SETUP

Three steps to a self-flying camera

STEP 01

Connect the gimbal

Power on your DJI RS 3 Mini and GimbalPilot finds it over Bluetooth. No phone, no tablet, no Ronin app in the loop.

STEP 02

Pair the camera

A guided screen links your Sony body for variable-speed zoom. No compatible camera? Skip it — tracking works without zoom.

STEP 03

Click the speaker

Pick your video feed, click the person on screen, done. The gimbal follows them for the rest of the service.

COMPATIBILITY

Honest about hardware

GimbalPilot speaks DJI's Bluetooth protocol directly. We list exactly what we have verified — and the beta grows this list with every new setup.

Verified

  • DJI RS 3 Mini GIMBAL
  • Sony ZV-E10 II ZOOM CAMERA
  • Elgato Cam Link 4K CAPTURE
  • Windows 11 · macOS (Apple Silicon) OS

Likely works — help us verify

  • Other DJI RS-series gimbals UNVERIFIED
  • Sony ZV / Alpha / FX bodies with Bluetooth remote UNVERIFIED
  • Any UVC/HDMI capture device USUALLY FINE
  • Canon · Nikon · Fujifilm zoom NOT YET

Beta deal: if your hardware doesn't work, cancel and the current month is refunded. When GimbalPilot meets an unverified model, it asks to share the result — every report grows this list.

PRICING

One plan. Every update.

DJI and Sony change firmware; we keep up. Your subscription pays for the app, ongoing protocol work and support — not a server farm.

  • Full app for Windows and macOS
  • 7-day free trial in the app, no card needed
  • All features, all updates while subscribed
